Job description
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for upmarket residential construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure budgets are realistic and projects remain financially on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate quantity and cost estimates for residential projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers for pricing information
- Monitor and update cost databases for materials, labour, and subcontractor rates
- Assist in budget planning and cost control during project execution
- Provide regular reports on estimated vs actual costs
- Support tender submissions and proposals
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- 3-5 years’ experience in construction estimating, preferably in upmarket residential projects
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
