Job description
A well-established residential and commercial property management and investment company based in South Johannesburg is seeking to appoint a Junior Finance Manager to support the finance function across multiple property portfolios and operational entities.The organisation operates within a dynamic real estate environment focused on rental management, property operations, leasing, and asset optimisation. The business manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial assets, with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, tenant management, and sustainable income generation through active property administration and investment support. This role will be central in strengthening financial controls, supporting management reporting, and driving key financial processes with a primary focus on budgeting and forecasting across the group structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets across multiple property entities
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts aligned to operational and portfolio performance
- Analyse budget versus actual variances and provide meaningful financial insights
- Support scenario modelling and forward-looking financial planning
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports
- Assist in interpreting financial results across property portfolios
- Monitor key financial KPIs including rental income, expenses, and occupancy trends
Cost Control & Operational Finance:
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets across properties
- Support cost efficiency initiatives within operations and property management teams
- Assist with financial controls and reconciliations across entities
Stakeholder & Business Support:
- Work closely with operational managers and senior finance leadership
- Provide financial input into property performance and business decision-making
- Support audit processes and compliance requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- 3–6 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong exposure to budgeting and forecasting (non-negotiable focus)
- Experience in management accounting or financial reporting preferred
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
- Experience in property, real estate, or multi-entity environments (advantageous)
- BCom Accounting / Finance or similar qualification
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment
