Job description
A rapidly expanding property investment company, operating with a bold and entrepreneurial approach to the real estate sector, is seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant. The business is focused on delivering strong financial performance, operational excellence, and scalable growth across its property portfolio.
The successful candidate will work closely with and report directly to the Financial Manager, gaining exposure to a fast-paced environment where accuracy, initiative, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Subsidiary Support:
- Assist the Financial Manager with operational and financial reporting across subsidiaries
- Prepare and/or review monthly management packs
- Update and maintain centralised regional financial reports for review
- Provide financial reporting support to shareholders
Financial Statements & Audit Support:
- Prepare annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Review and manage audit files
- Liaise with auditors and manage audit queries where applicable
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of audit processes
Taxation & Compliance:
- Prepare and/or review tax computations
- Calculate provisional tax payments and dividend distributions
- Prepare tax returns (GreatSoft)
- Assist with VAT verifications, IT14SDs, and SARS-related queries
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and reporting requirements
Cash Flow & Financial Analysis:
- Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required
- Support documentation of business processes and financial procedures
Candidate Requirements:
- BCom Degree or equivalent qualification
- SAICA/SAIPA articles completed or relevant experience in a small to medium audit/accounting practice (advantageous)
- 2–3 years relevant accounting experience
- Intermediate Excel proficiency
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax principles
