Job description

A well-established property development and construction organisation, specialising in residential and mixed-use developments, is seeking to appoint a Wetworks Foreman to oversee all wet trades on active construction sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all wetworks activities including brickwork, plastering, concrete works, and related subcontractor outputs. The role ensures that all construction phases are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, drawings, and company specifications.

This is a site-based leadership role requiring strong coordination skills, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to manage subcontractors while maintaining strict quality control and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction

  • Review project programme and construction schedules
  • Confirm availability of long-lead materials
  • Verify appointment and readiness of wetwork subcontractors
  • Review drawings, issue lists, and construction documentation
  • Confirm and track variation orders (VOs)
  • Assist in sequencing of units and construction planning

Construction & Site Management

  • Coordinate construction timelines with subcontractors
  • Confirm commencement dates for each phase of wetworks
  • Ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and available on site
  • Coordinate site setting out with surveyors and verify accuracy
  • Ensure correct alignment and levels in accordance with site pegs
  • Liaise with brickwork teams to ensure accurate execution
  • Conduct and complete SnagR quality control checklists
  • Arrange and coordinate engineer inspections at key stages
  • Confirm surface bed levels prior to execution phases
  • Monitor plant, tools, and equipment utilisation on site
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Review and sign off subcontractor checklists (bricklayers, plasterers, roofing teams)
  • Oversee external works including garden and boundary levels
  • Inspect and approve screen walls and structural finishes
  • Provide daily progress feedback to Site Agent
  • Submit weekly progress reports to stakeholders

Health & Safety

  • Enforce site safety regulations and safe working procedures
  • Ensure all subcontractors comply with PPE requirements
  • Facilitate regular safety talks and toolbox meetings
  • Maintain adherence to current health & safety legislation and site protocols

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) minimum
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in wetworks or site construction supervision
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction processes and wet trades
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Strong site coordination and subcontractor management skills
  • High attention to detail and quality control capability
  • Familiarity with SnagR or similar site management systems (advantageous)
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
