Job description
A leading consulting and project management firm is seeking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join its Cape Town team.
The organisation provides professional project management and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of construction and property development projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters. This role requires a proactive and commercially astute professional with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project delivery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility and planning to completion and handover
- Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and contractors
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to approved timelines and budgets
- Facilitate project meetings and prepare detailed progress reports
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions where required
- Manage procurement processes and consultant appointments
- Oversee contract administration and ensure contractual compliance
- Review project costs and monitor expenditure against approved budgets
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Manage project close-out processes, including snagging, handover, and final documentation
- Drive project performance in line with client objectives and business targets
Requirements:
- BSc / BSc Honours degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Property Studies, Project Management, or related discipline
- 5–10 years’ project management experience within a consulting, construction, or property development environment
- Proven track record of delivering projects from inception to completion
- Strong knowledge of project planning, cost management, procurement, and contract administration
- Experience managing multidisciplinary professional teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport
