Job description
A well-established civil construction contractor is seeking to appoint a Concrete Foreman to oversee site operations with a strong focus on concrete works, waterproofing, and general civil infrastructure delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site teams, ensuring quality execution of concrete structures, and managing daily construction activities across pipelines, earthworks, roads, and related civil works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities on civil construction projects
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and labour resources effectively
- Oversee concrete works including placement, finishing, and curing processes
- Ensure quality workmanship in waterproofing and structural concrete applications
- Monitor progress against programme and report site performance
- Ensure efficient use of plant, labour, and materials
- Enforce health, safety, and site compliance standards
- Interpret drawings and ensure work is executed to specification
- Assist in planning and sequencing of construction activities
- Maintain accurate site records and daily progress reporting
- Resolve on-site issues and support smooth project delivery
Minimum Requirements:
- 5–8 years’ experience in waterproofing and concrete finishing
- Proven experience supervising civil construction teams
- Strong background in pipelines, earthworks, roads, and concrete works
- Solid understanding of construction methods and SANS 1200 standards
- Reservoir construction experience advantageous
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good communication and organisational ability
- Problem-solving and decision-making capability on site
- Self-driven and results-oriented approach
- Valid driver’s licence
