Job description
A well-established retail property management group with a strong focus on shopping centre operations, tenant experience, and asset performance is seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee a retail centre in Burgersfort.
The organisation manages a portfolio of retail and commercial assets, with a strong emphasis on well-maintained shopping environments, efficient building operations, and sustainable tenant mix performance. The business is known for its hands-on asset management approach, ensuring that centres are clean, safe, operationally efficient, and commercially successful.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day building operations, managing service providers, and ensuring optimal functionality of the retail centre while maintaining high standards of customer and tenant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the retail shopping centre
- Manage building maintenance, cleaning, security, and service contractors
- Ensure optimal functioning of all building systems and infrastructure
- Conduct regular inspections of the centre and resolve operational issues
- Manage tenant operational requirements and support store needs
- Monitor service provider performance and contract compliance
- Ensure health, safety, and security standards are maintained
- Assist with budgeting and control of operational expenditure
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance plans
- Liaise with tenants, contractors, and management on operational matters
- Ensure the centre remains clean, safe, and well-presented at all times
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail operations, facilities, or building management
- Strong understanding of shopping centre or commercial property operations
- Experience managing contractors and service providers essential
- Strong technical and maintenance coordination ability
- Good financial awareness and budget control experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
