Job description
A leading multidisciplinary construction group with a strong delivery record across civil engineering and infrastructure projects is seeking to appoint a Site Agent within its earthworks division.
The organisation undertakes large-scale civil construction works including bulk earthworks, dams, foundations, and associated infrastructure, with a strong focus on safety, quality execution, and programme delivery.
The successful candidate will take full site responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of earthworks activities and will play a key role in ensuring production targets, quality standards, and contractual requirements are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily site operations on civil earthworks projects
- Oversee bulk earthworks construction including cut, fill, and compaction activities
- Manage subcontractors, labour teams, and plant resources
- Ensure compliance with design drawings and technical specifications
- Monitor production rates, progress, and site performance
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards
- Coordinate daily planning and sequencing of works
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and client representatives
- Maintain site records, reporting, and measurement data
- Resolve site-based technical and operational challenges
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng / BSc / BTech / ND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (advantageous)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil earthworks or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience in bulk earthworks construction
- Knowledge of construction methods, compaction, and site execution
- Experience in dam, foundation, or similar heavy earthworks advantageous
- Strong leadership and site management skills
- Ability to manage multiple teams and plant resources
- Strong communication and problem-solving ability
- Valid driver’s licence
