Job description

A specialist project controls and construction planning consultancy is seeking a Junior Project Planner / Programmer to join their delivery team. The organisation operates within the built environment, supporting contractors and project teams with structured planning, scheduling, and performance reporting services across a range of construction projects.

The role is focused on developing, maintaining, and updating detailed construction programmes while ensuring accurate and consistent reporting of project progress across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain construction project programmes using CCS Candy and Microsoft Project
  • Prepare baseline programmes aligned to project scope, methodology, and timelines
  • Conduct monthly site progress updates and ensure programmes reflect actual project status
  • Compile and issue progress reports, dashboards, and schedule performance updates
  • Track critical paths, milestones, and programme deviations
  • Liaise with site teams and project managers to obtain accurate progress information
  • Support scheduling analysis and programme forecasting activities
  • Maintain proper programme documentation and version control

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in project planning, construction administration, or site-based coordination
  • Exposure to construction or engineering environments advantageous
  • Understanding of basic scheduling principles and critical path methodology
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret site progress and translate into programme updates
  • Proficiency in CCS Candy and Microsoft Project (or willingness to develop)
  • Strong MS Projects and CCS Candy scales
