Job description
A well-established civil construction contractor with a strong delivery record across infrastructure projects is seeking to appoint a Civil Construction Manager / Site Agent to strengthen its operations team.
The organisation undertakes medium to large-scale civil engineering projects across pipelines, earthworks, roads, and concrete structures, with a strong focus on efficient project delivery, cost control, and contractual compliance.
The successful candidate will take full site and project responsibility across multiple operations and will play a key leadership role in managing production, subcontractors, programme delivery, and site performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site operations across civil construction projects
- Oversee planning, programming, and execution of works
- Manage subcontractors, labour teams, and plant resources
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
- Interpret drawings and ensure compliance with design requirements
- Monitor site productivity and progress reporting
- Enforce quality control and health & safety compliance
- Liaise with engineers, clients, and internal project teams
- Manage site documentation and reporting
- Resolve on-site technical and operational challenges
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng / BSc / BTech / ND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP advantageous
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods (SANS 1200 / GCC)
- Proven experience in pipelines, earthworks, roads, and concrete works
- Strong leadership and site management skills
- Excellent communication skills (English & Afrikaans advantageous)
- Ability to manage multiple site activities under pressure
- Valid driver’s licence
