Job description
A well-established civil construction contractor is seeking to appoint a Civil Production Manager / General Foreman to support site operations and drive production efficiency across active projects.
The organisation delivers infrastructure projects including earthworks, pipelines, roads, and concrete works, with a strong focus on programme delivery, quality execution, and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site teams, coordinating daily production activities, and ensuring that construction targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site production activities
- Manage labour teams, subcontractors, and plant usage
- Ensure work is executed according to programme and specifications
- Monitor productivity and site performance
- Assist in planning and sequencing of construction activities
- Enforce safety, quality, and site compliance standards
- Train and mentor junior foremen and workers
- Report progress and site issues to management
- Ensure efficient use of materials and resources
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Manager / General Foreman role
- Strong experience in civil construction environments
- Knowledge of pipelines, earthworks, roads, and concrete works
- Strong understanding of SANS 1200 construction methods
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage and motivate teams
- Good communication and reporting ability
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence
