Job description

A leading multidisciplinary construction group with a strong delivery record across infrastructure, energy, and engineering projects is seeking to appoint a Senior Planner (Renewable Energy) to strengthen its project controls capability.

The organisation delivers large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Southern Africa, with a strong focus on programme certainty, commercial performance, and contractual compliance.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring across multiple projects and will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements, timelines, and commercial objectives while supporting efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules and programmes
  • Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify deviations
  • Conduct critical path analysis and programme optimisation
  • Identify project risks, delays, and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and planning deliverables
  • Coordinate planning inputs across engineering, procurement, and construction teams
  • Support tender programme development and bid submissions
  • Assist in extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis
  • Ensure alignment between planning, procurement, and site execution activities
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in project planning within construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects
  • Proven experience on large-scale EPC, infrastructure, or energy projects
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning tools
  • Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies, and critical path analysis
  • Knowledge of contract frameworks and full project lifecycle delivery
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
