Job description
A leading multidisciplinary construction group with a strong delivery record across infrastructure, energy, and engineering projects is seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer to strengthen its project delivery capability.
The organisation undertakes medium to large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage substations, overhead transmission lines, and electrical reticulation networks, with a strong focus on quality execution, safety compliance, and programme delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing electrical construction projects from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered in line with technical specifications, contractual requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee electrical construction projects from inception to completion
- Coordinate design, procurement, and construction activities
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations
- Supervise installation of high voltage substations and transmission systems
- Oversee construction of overhead lines (medium and high voltage)
- Manage electrical reticulation projects and site execution
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines
- Identify and mitigate project risks and technical challenges
- Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and site teams
- Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are maintained on site
- Prepare project reports and provide technical input to management
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry
- Proven experience in high voltage substations
- Proven experience in overhead transmission lines (medium and high voltage)
- Experience in electrical reticulation networks
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction standards and practices
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and coordination ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Valid driver’s licence
